Getting from Ibiza airport to San Antonio, or Sant Antoni as the signs say, is the first leg for most people heading to this coast. It is about 22 km and half an hour by road across the middle of the island. From the town, the coves are another 4 to 13 km. The estimator above uses the official per-km rates to give a fare for each combination of start point and cove, by day or at night.
Taxi fares in Ibiza: what the estimator uses
Ibiza taxi fares are set by the island council, the Consell d’Eivissa, and published in the regional gazette. The estimator offers two tariffs:
- 2026 tariff: flag fall EUR 4.35, EUR 1.32 per km by day, EUR 1.60 per km at night or on holidays, plus EUR 2.15 for journeys from the port or airport. It was published at the end of September 2026. A taxi may only charge it once its meter has been re-verified and sealed, so for a while you may still meet the old rate.
- 2023 tariff: flag fall EUR 4.00, EUR 1.21 and EUR 1.47 per km, EUR 2.00 airport supplement, in force since 1 May 2023.
The night rate covers journeys between 21:00 and 07:00, Saturdays from 15:00, and Sundays and public holidays. Distances come from OpenStreetMap routing on the fastest road without traffic, and the estimate adds nothing for waiting, so the meter will usually read a little higher. The range under the fare allows for that.
Buses from the airport and Sant Antoni
Since 1 April 2026 the island’s buses have been run by Alsa under a new ten-year contract, with new line names. The airport line to the west coast is AERO1, Sant Antoni - Sant Josep - Aeroport, which replaced the old L9. From Sant Antoni the local lines reach the coves:
- P2, Port des Torrent - Sant Antoni, and U1, which continues past Port des Torrent to Cala Tarida
- P5 to Cala Bassa and P4 to Platges de Comte
- A14, the new summer link between Cala Bassa, Platges de Comte, Cala Tarida and Sant Josep
- P1 for Cala Gració, according to Sant Antoni council
Timetables change between the summer and winter networks, so look them up on Alsa’s site or app on the day rather than relying on a printed sheet.
Boats across the bay
From May to October, Cruceros Portmany runs boats from its kiosk on Sant Antoni’s Passeig de la Mar to Cala Bassa, about 25 minutes, and on to Cala Comte, about 40 minutes, with 3 to 6 sailings a day. Smaller ferries cross the bay to Port des Torrent and stop at Cala Tarida. The last returns are in the afternoon, so the sunset means a bus, a taxi or a walk home.
By car and on foot
Driving is the easiest way to combine coves outside the bus timetable, but parking is the catch in July and August. At Cala Comte a barrier closes the last stretch of road; at Cala Bassa the car parks sit by the restaurants and fill by mid-morning. The cove pages give the details for each beach.
On foot, Port des Torrent is about 6 km round Sant Antoni Bay from the town centre, and Cala Gració only 2 km north of it. The coastal track from Port des Torrent to Cala Bassa is about 2.5 km and has almost no shade.
To budget the whole day, transport, sunbeds and lunch included, the planner adds it up per person.
